Position: Tenure-track Position in Finance

The Faculty of Management (FOM) at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will be with effect from July 1, 2022, or as soon thereafter as possible. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful applicant will have a PhD or DBA in Finance or Financial Economics in hand (or be nearing completion) at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants who also hold a relevant professional industry designation such as a CFA.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of excellence in university teaching and research or evidence of the ability to develop such a record. Teaching assignments will be at the undergraduate and graduate levels with primary emphasis on courses related to corporate finance, international finance, investments, merger and acquisitions, fixed income, value investing, theory of finance, financial markets and institutions and behavioral finance. The successful candidate may also be required to teach courses in analytics.
The FOM has strategic industry and community partnerships including a long-standing partnership between its Centre for Financial Studies and Vestcor Investment Management Corporation (formerly the New Brunswick Investment Management Corporation) through which we offer a highly successful experiential elective full-year course on investments. Also, in consultation with Vestcor, a Master level program, Master of Quantitative Investment, has been introduced and is now in its fourth year. The FOM is innovative in its programs, curriculum design and outreach activities and has more than 840 students in the undergraduate program and over 100 students in the graduate program.
