St Francis Xavier University has announced the appointment of Lisa Watson as the new Dean of the Gerald Schwartz School of Business. Her term will start 2025, July 1st.

Dr. Watson joins StFX from Athabasca University, where she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Business since 2022. Prior to that, she held several leadership roles at the University of Regina, including Associate Dean (Research & Graduate Programs) at the Hill and Levene Schools of Business and Associate Dean (Strategic) in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. With over 20 years of experience in business education, Dr. Watson is widely recognized for her expertise in marketing, consumer behavior, and social impact research.

Dr. Watson holds a PhD in Business with a concentration in Marketing from Bond University in Australia, a Master of Management Studies from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Carleton University. She has published extensively on topics related to consumer decision-making, social marketing, and sustainable consumption, and she has held leadership positions in various national and international academic organizations.
